Here is a partial list of what’s open and closed during the Easter weekend:
Banks will be open on Monday.
Federal and provincial government offices will be closed on Monday.
Most city of Montreal offices will be closed on Monday, including borough offices, Accès Montréal and other points of service. The boroughs will maintain regular garbage and recycling pickups. (Only the pickup of bulky items is postponed until April 6 in the LaSalle borough.)
The municipal courthouse on Gosford St. and the service counter at 303 Notre Dame E. will also be closed on Monday.
Montreal arenas, swimming pools, sports centres, libraries and cultural venues will operate according to schedules set by boroughs.
Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard will be closed on Monday.
The city’s écocentres will be closed on Monday.
The Pointe-à-Callière Museum of Archeology and History will remain open all weekend.
Most large retail stores and malls will be open on Monday, but closed on Sunday. Some smaller retail stores may choose to stay open.
Montreal’s public markets will operate on normal hours during the weekend. The Marché Bonsecours will also be open.
Most supermarket chains are open during regular hours on Saturday and Monday, but closed on Easter Sunday.
Most pharmacies will operate on normal hours all weekend.
STM buses will run on holiday schedules on Monday. Visit www.stm.info for information.
AMT commuter trains will run on their regular weekend schedules over the weekend and regular weekday schedules on Monday. Visit amt.qc.ca for information.
Société des alcools du Québec outlets will operate on regular hours on Saturday. On Sunday, all SAQ Express outlets will be open. Most SAQ Classique outlets will also be open, but most SAQ Selection outlets will be closed. Also on Sunday, all SAQ Signature and SAQ Dépôt outlets will be closed. Most SAQ outlets will be open on Monday.
The Biodôme, Botanical Garden and Insectarium and the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium will be open according to their regular schedule.
