You can still water your flowers, trees and garden by hand but don’t pull out a sprinkler if you live in Dorval.
Dorval is the latest West Island municipality to introduce lawn watering restrictions for the summer months. Last week, Dollard des Ormeaux introduced its package of watering restrictions.
In Dorval, effective June 1, lawn watering is prohibited from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Anyone who contravenes the restrictions could receive a fine of up to $600 in a residential area and a fine of up to $2,000 in a commercial area. The restrictions will remain in place until September 1.
This year there is some give, however.
From 7 p.m. until 7 a.m., watering will be allowed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, if your civic address ends in an even number and, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, if your address ends with an odd number. No watering is allowed on Sunday.
