Police are investigating after the chance discovery of a corpse late Monday night in an apartment in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. Police say the death is suspicious.
Around 11:30 p.m., officers went to the building on Ste-Catherine St. near Joliette St. in the course of a missing-person investigation. They found the body of a man in his late 50s. The death appeared to have happened some time ago, police said.
An investigation has been launched and police hope to determine whether the man died of natural causes. Police say the building in which the man was found is known for criminal activities including trafficking and drug use.
