A strip club and a motel were completely destroyed Saturday morning by a fire that appears to have been deliberately set in Rivière-Beaudette, on the Quebec-Ontario border near the St. Lawrence River.
The fire, at Club Frontière, was discovered around 5 a.m. Saturday by the janitor, alerted by the building’s fire alarm. By the time firefighters arrived, the building was engulfed in flames.
The building was completely destroyed, but there was no one in it.
The fire was brought under control around 9:30 a.m. and the firefighters almost immediately transferred the case to the Sûreté du Québec.
