A sunnier and much warmer outlook today: Environment Canada forecasts a clear day with a high of 18 C. The UV index will be 6 or high.

Tonight, it will be clear with a low of plus 4 C.

The loonie: At 6:15 a.m., the Canadian dollar was worth 77.2 cents U.S.

Coming up today:

  • Cage the Elephant performs at the Bell Centre.
  • Officials in Lac-Mégantic present the results of a preliminary feasibility study on creating tracks to bypass the town centre.
  • The Canadian Football League holds its entry draft with the first of eight rounds beginning at 7 p.m. The Alouettes pick second overall, unless there’s a trade.
  • The Eurovision Song Contest begins its first semifinal in Stockholm.
  • West Virginia holds its presidential primaries for both parties, and Nebraska votes in the Republican race, though that’s already a foregone conclusion.
