Steve McCurry, a renowned photographer for National Geographic and other publications, has been embroiled in controversy lately after some of his photos appeared to be digitally altered.
McCurry is perhaps best known to readers of National Geographic for his stunning portrait photo of what became known as the “Afghan girl” in 1984.
The cover photo of green-eyed Sharbat Gula is considered the “most recognized photo” in the magazine’s history.
An exhibition of Steve McCurry photos continues through June 30 at Galerie Got, 50 St-Paul St. W., open most days 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
