Two women, age 19 and 20, have been charged with attempted kidnapping, assault and conspiracy following a home invasion in Pointe-aux-Trembles Monday night.
The women and four other people entered the home about 9:30 p.m. and became involved in a dispute with two men over an 11-month-old baby, police said. A 56-year-old man was beaten up and had to be hospitalized. The other man and the baby were unharmed.
On Tuesday evening, Montreal police arrested a 17-year-old male and a 21-year-old male in connection with the invasion. The men will be charged in court Wednesday with conspiracy, assault and breaking and entering. Police have also detained a 16-year-old female in the case and are still looking for another male suspect.
Police suspect the baby was the motivation for the break-in. One of the women charged is the baby’s mother.
