A riot broke out in the Quartier-des-Spectacles district of Montreal Friday night,
Around 11:30 p.m., several individuals were throwing orange cones and bricks at each other and at buildings, said Montreal police spokesperson Benoit Boisselle.
The violence broke out at the end of the night’s FrancoFolies concerts, where Quebec metal band B.A.R.F. and French rapper MHD were performing.
The police headquarters were a target of the vandalism, as were nearby businesses and vehicles.
A bystander’s video shows rioters throwing orange cones at police officers.
Another video shows rioters destroying an ice cream stand.
Two men were arrested for assault, mischief and obstructing police. Six officers sustained non-serious injuries, Boisselle said.
