A man was sent to hospital early Friday morning with lower-body injuries after a suspect who had broken into his house attacked him.
The attack took place around 1 a.m. on Stirling Avenue in Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough.
Police spokeswoman Andréanne Picard said the 22-year-old victim entered his apartment and was attacked by a man who had broken into his home.
The victim suffered knife wounds. Authorities said the injuries are minor.
It remains unknown whether the victim and the suspect are related. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
A safety perimeter was erected near the apartment as authorities continue to investigate the case.
