The Montreal police arson squad is investigating a suspicious fire at a shop on Forsyth St. in Pointe-aux-Trembles borough.
At approximately 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, police were called by firefighters to the scene of a car repair shop at 11320 Forsyth St. near Broadway Ave., according to Andrée-Anne Picard, spokesperson for the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal. The blaze was under control quickly and the damage was minimal.
Traces of accelerants were found at the scene, leading police to suspect arson. It is the second fire at this location in recent weeks. The possibility of a molotov cocktail is being investigated.
Police are still on the scene awaiting the arson squad investigators, who will be continue to examine the shop to determine the cause.
