Montreal police say the lifeless body of a 46-year-old man who went missing last May was found in the apartment building where he worked.
Dmitri Drjazgin’s body was found in a ventilation shaft of a high-rise apartment building on Earnscliffe Ave. in the borough of Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce.
The resident of the borough worked as a superintendent at the high-rise. He went missing on May 16, when he did not return home after work.
Montreal police Constable Jean-Pierre Brabant said the ventilation shaft has an entrance at the roof. The body was found Tuesday evening when an employee of the building noticed a bad smell and opened the ventilation shaft on the building’s bottom floor.
“At this point, after having spoken to the family, and considering how the body was found, we believe this was a suicide,” Brabant said.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
