At the 1976 Summer Games, Princess Anne, daughter of Queen Elizabeth, became the first member of the British Royal family to compete in the Olympics.
A member of the British equestrian team at the 1976 games, she rode Goodwill, a horse belonging to the queen.
On the second day of her event, in front of a crowd that included her parents, she fell and suffered a concussion at the Olympic Equestrian Centre in Bromont, southeast of Montreal.
She got back on her horse and completed the course, later telling an interviewer that she doesn’t remember much of what happened that day.
Princess Anne is a member of the International Olympic Committee and was a member of the organizing committee for the London Games in 2012.
