Former Liberal minister Nathalie Normandeau has found a new home on Quebec City’s radio airwaves after being dismissed by FM93 in respect to some of her legal troubles.

Normandeau will host at 102.1 BLVD — a station in the Quebec City region that is owned by Leclerc Communication Inc.

The station has not yet specified the details of her hiring on its website, indicating that press conference will be held later in August.

According to program director Dan Caron, Normandeau had been courted by “at least three radio stations in the region of Quebec.”

Previously Normandeau co-hosted the noon show at FM93 with Éric Duhaime until last April. She was fired by the station after being arrested by the Unité permanente anticorruption (UPAC) and accused of fraud, embezzlement, conspiracy and corruption of officials.

The former deputy Prime Minister is also suing her former employer, Cogeco Média, for $722,500 for wrongful dismissal.

The lawyers of Normandeau and her six co-defendants arrested in UPAC’s dragnet reported that their clients would be contesting the holding of their trial. The defendants were summoned on Aug. 29 for a trial management conference

A group in Gaspé has set up a defence fund for Normandeau, collecting donations to help the well-liked politician with her legal proceedings.
