Sixteen trucks and 30 firefighters were called to the scene of a house fire Tuesday morning in Kirkland after smoke was reported to be coming off the roof.
Flames engulfed the single-family, two-storey home on John White St. just after 10 a.m.
Suzie Simard, a spokesperson for the Service de securite incendie de Montreal (SIM), said police and firefighters have closed the residential street and evacuated residents in neighbouring houses.
