Motorists should note there will be a closure off 55th Ave. under Highway 520 (Côte de Liesse) in Dorval for about eight weeks starting Monday, Aug. 12.
The measure is being taken so Transport Quebec can proceed with reinforcement work on Highway 520 and its service roads over 55th Ave. However, a pedestrian link through this industrial/commercial area will be maintained. Detours for motorists will be indicated by signs.
Once the work is completed, a single traffic lane will be available on this portion of 55th Ave. The service road of westbound Highway 520 near 55th Ave., which has been closed since the month of July, will also reopen to traffic.
Work on the overpass and resulting traffic disruptions could be postponed due to weather conditions.
The Highway 520-55th Ave. overpass is located about five kilometres east of Dorval Circle that is undergoing a major overhaul, a project which will eventually provide a direct link from Highway 20 to the airport.
