Two people have been formally charged with murder in the death of Marielle Portelance, an Ontarian woman found dead in a wooded sector of Grenville-sur-la-Rouge in the Laurentians on July 29.
Marie-Josée Castilloux, 39, and Mario Lalonde, 32, residents of the same municipality, were each charged with one count of premeditated murder at the St-Jérôme courthouse on Friday, a day after they were arrested by the Sûreté du Québec.
The body of the victim, a 30-year-old Hawkesbury native, was discovered near Scotch Rd. and Cook Lake. The body was wrapped in what appeared to be a bag or carpet.
