VAL-DES-MONTS — A 21-year-old man drowned Friday night in Lac St-Pierre in Val-des-Monts in the Outaouais.
He was at a friend’s party on private land when he made a somersault into the lake around midnight. However, he never surfaced and according to MRC des Collines police Sergeant Daniel Parizeau none of his friends were able to rescue him.
Divers from the Sûreté du Québec recovered the body of the young man from Ottawa around 11 a.m. Saturday morning near the place where he jumped into the water.
Police believe alcohol might have have played a role in the incident.
Investigators are trying to determine the circumstances of the drowning.
