Ending a tragic week for bike riders, two cyclists were sent to hospital after being hit by vehicles Saturday morning in separate accidents in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie.
A 25-year-old woman was seriously injured in her lower body in Little Italy around 8 a.m. when a city cleaning truck veered out of its lane on St-Laurent Blvd. and struck her, according to police. She is in stable condition.
Investigators were on the scene, and Montreal police reopened the section of St-Laurent Blvd. and Mozart Ave. that was cordoned off.
Half an hour later, a 47-year-old man was hit by a car at the intersection of 15th Ave. and St-Zotique St., when both the cyclist and the driver advanced after a stop sign. Police said the cyclist had the right of way.
The cyclist was hospitalized for minor injuries. The 73-year-old driver was fined for not respecting road signs.
Friday morning, another cyclist was hit by a truck downtown on Berri St. The 18-year-old is still in critical condition.

Monday afternoon, a 24-year-old woman was killed when a truck hit her as she was biking in Rosemont.
