A man was transported to hospital in critical condition after being shot at least once in the upper body early Sunday.
Montreal police officers said they heard a gunshot while patrolling downtown. They found the victim, a 21-year-old man, near the corner of Ste-Catherine and Crescent streets.
Authorities fear for his life.
Investigators have blocked off a large perimeter as they continue to probe. Ste-Catherine St. is closed between Bishop and de la Montagne street and Crescent St. is also closed between de Maisonneuve Blvd. and René Lévesque Blvd.
