As of Thursday evening, the forecast for Saturday and Sunday was the same for both days: A mix of sun and cloud with a high of 16 and a low of 6.

Concerts, symposium discussions, artisan and visual art exhibitions, fashion shows, film screenings and partying, lots of partying: It’s all happening at the Pop Montreal festival, continuing through Sunday. Check out their site for the calendar.
In other entertainment happenings in Montreal, The Festival international de la littérature begins, with events until Oct. 2, and The Magnificent Seven and Storks are among the movies opening in theatres today. And Telefilm Canada will announce which film will represent the country in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Academy Awards.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be in Montreal today with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. They will attend an event with representatives of the Canadiens at the Bell Centre and a China-Canada Business Forum and luncheon. Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard will also meet with Li Keqiang.
In Gatineau, the Native Women’s Association of Canada will honour Indigenous artist Maxine “Ioyan Mani” Noel. Speakers include: Heritage Minister Mélanie Joly and Northern Affairs Minister Carolyn Bennett. It’s happening at 6:30 p.m. at the Canadian Museum of History, 100 Laurier St.)
In Toronto, Canada Post will be unveiling new stamps honouring great Canadian NHL forwards.

Coming up on Saturday, Daily Show host Trevor Noah will be presenting his standup comedy routine at Théâtre St-Denis. The Impact will play the Red Bulls in New York at 7 p.m., and the World Cup of Hockey plays its first semifinal at 1 p.m.
On Sunday, thousands will participate in Montreal’s annual marathon, starting from the Jacques-Cartier Bridge. Candidates for the leadership of the Parti Québécois will hold their second and final official debate at Montreal’s Monument-National. And the second semifinal in the World Cup of Hockey is on at 1 p.m.
