Montreal firefighters battled a major fire in a two-storey residential building in Lachine borough at the supper hour on Friday.
Two people were reported injured with burns to their hands.
The building is at William-MacDonald St. and 12th Ave., Montreal Police spokesperson Caroline Chevrefils said.
A barbecue on a second-floor balcony started the fire, the fire department said, and it spread to four businesses and five apartments.
More than 120 firefighters responded to the five-alarm blaze.
Damage is estimated to be about $500,000.
