Nineteen people were arrested Wednesday in police raids that targeted an alleged drug-trafficking and vehicle-theft ring.
About 200 police officers from the Montérégie, Montreal, Laval and other forces took part in the operation, which was led by the Sûreté du Québec.
They were searching for people suspected of being involved in the production and trafficking of marijuana as well as the theft and concealment of large trucks.
Marijuana plants, $5,000 in cash and firearms were seized, police said.
The alleged criminal organization used as its base Métaux Saint-Jean, a vehicle and metal recycling company in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, police said.
The investigation was launched in 2013 after a tip from the public.
