A cyclist in his 30s is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being involved in a collision with a truck pulling a trailer in Villeray–St-Michel–Parc-Extension on Friday.
The incident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. Responding to several 911 calls, Montreal police arrived at de Castelnau and St-Dominique Sts. and found the cyclist on the ground with serious head and leg injuries.
He was transported to a hospital, said Montreal police spokesperson Benoit Boisselle. It’s unclear whether the man will survive, he said.
Boisselle said witnesses told police the man was heading north on St-Dominique and failed to stop at a stop sign before he turned east on de Castelnau, Boisselle said.
The driver, who was turning from de Castelnau to St-Dominique, did not have a stop sign.
The cyclist hit a trailer that the truck was pulling, Boisselle said.
