Avoid the Décarie and Ville-Marie expressways this weekend, as work on the Turcot Interchange will cause major disruptions to motorists from Oct. 14-16 and onwards.
Décarie Expressway: Will be closed from Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m. as crews finish work demolishing the St-Jacques St. overpass. All accesses to the northbound Décarie — from highways 15, 20 and 720 — will be closed during that period, as will the ramp from the Décarie southbound toward Highway 720 east. There will be access to the northbound Décarie from Sherbrooke St. If the weather conditions are favourable, the work to dismantle the St-Jacques overpass will be completed this weekend.
Bonaventure Expressway: Part of Duke St. and all of Wellington St. will be closed in the area around the Bonaventure Expressway from Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m. The city is in the process of rebuilding that roadway and reconfiguring the road network around it in Griffintown. That work will require closing all but one of Duke St.’s four lanes between Wellington and Ottawa Sts. Wellington itself will be closed between Duke and Queen Sts.
Ville-Marie Expressway: The eastbound Highway 20 access ramp to the Ville-Marie will be closed from 11:59 p.m. Saturday until Sunday at 6:30 a.m. as crews work to close one lane out of two. Afterward, that ramp will be down to one lane until the end of 2018. Starting in November, the Ville-Marie will be down to two lanes from four for a period of about two years, as the expressway is rebuilt.
