Montreal police have arrested a suspect in the assault of three women overnight Thursday in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough.
François Dulude, 26, was arrested late Saturday in Montreal. Police had advised the public to not approach the suspect and instead to call 911.
According to police, the suspect followed women walking on Plateau streets, approached them from behind and hit them repeatedly. In the first two incidents, the victims were able to escape. In the third incident, police said, the victim was sexually assaulted.
Dulude will face multiple charges of assault and assault of a sexual nature.
