A possible listeria monocytogenes contamination is forcing Montreal’s Charcuterie Parisienne to recall packages of cured meats, it was announced on Wednesday.
The products have been sold in Quebec and should not be consumed, said the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
The products in question are (brand, product size, UPC codes and expiry date):
• Le trio de charcuteries Champêtre, 150 g, 8 72863 00760 7 best before 16 DE 12 and 16 DE 14
• Le trio de charcuteries Parisien, 150 g, 8 72863 00761 4, best before 16 DE 13 and 16 DE 20
• Cooked White Ham, variable (approximately 350 g), best before 16 DE 05
• Rindless Slab Bacon, variable (approximately 200 g), best before 16 DE 14
The CFIA says that if you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, call your doctor.
Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.
The food agency says symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
