The countdown to Christmas officially begins Saturday when the 66th edition of the Santa Claus Parade rolls along Ste-Catherine St.
The downtown parade begins at 11 a.m. at Fort St. and concludes at Place des Arts around 1:30 p.m.
Ste-Catherine St. will be completely closed to traffic at 10 a.m. It will reopen at 1:30 p.m.
If parade-goers want to leave the car behind and avoid traffic headaches, then take the métro’s Green Line to get to the parade. Subway stops along the parade route include Guy-Concordia, Peel and McGill.
The weather forecast looks fantastic: Sunny skies with a high of 12C.
As always, dress warmly if you plan to stick around to see the whole parade, including a special appearance by Santa Claus, Père Noël himself.
A ho-ho-ho reminder: There are only 36 shopping days till Christmas.
