PETITE-RIVIÈRE-ST-FRANÇOIS — Two workers were trapped Friday after a landslide caused by excavation work in the Charlevoix region.
Emergency services were called around 2:30 p.m. to help in the municipality of Petite-Rivière-St-François, where the work was being done on water pipes on Bergeron St.
The two men were found with their legs completely pinned after the landslide. They were eventually freed and brought to a hospital.
Sgt. Hélène Nepton of the Sûreté du Québec said they are now safe and sound.
No criminal involvement was suspected, so the investigation was transferred to the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail.
