Drinking and driving is bad enough but a police department on Prince Edward Island wants to make it extra-bad for those caught by forcing them to listen to Nickelback.
The Kensington Police Service took to Facebook to post its musical threat over the weekend.
“When we catch you, and we will catch you, on top of a hefty fine, a criminal charge and a years driving suspension we will also provide you with a bonus gift of playing the offices copy of Nickelback in the cruiser on the way to jail,” the post reads.
Needless to say the whole thing is a bit of a jab at Nickelback. While the Canadian band has won several awards and commercial success, it also receives its fair share of belittlement and eye-rolling from people all over the web.
In the meantime — and to help convince you to leave your keys behind when you head out to a holiday party — here are some Nickelback songs you could be listening to if you are caught drunk driving on P.E.I.
If this were to happen in Montreal, what artist could the SPVM use in their tactics?
