LÉVIS — Two occupants of the small plane that sank Saturday afternoon in the Etchemin River near Lévis, south of Quebec City, died.
The deceased are a 63-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, according to the Sûreté du Québec. The names of the victims have not yet been disclosed, as relatives have not yet been notified.
They were unconscious when recovered and transported to a hospital, said Christine Coulombe of the Sûreté du Québec.
The Transportation Safety Board announced the Grumman AA-1 two-seater crashed near Lévis at around 2 p.m. TSB spokesperson Chris Krepski said the federal agency was gathering information on the crash.
Police are on the scene, but TSB investigators had not yet arrived.
It is too early to comment on the cause of the crash, Coulombe said.
