One man is dead after what police believe was a quarrel between two men in their 60s degenerated into a physical altercation and a stabbing.
Police were called to a home on Prince Charles St. in the St-Hubert borough of Longueuil by a 911 call at 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
On arrival, they saw the silhouette of a man through a window and entered the residence to find two men inside. They were transported to hospital, where the death of one of the men was confirmed. The victim was stabbed with a knife, police said.
The other man had serious injuries, but his life is not considered in danger.
Police will be interviewing the other individual “as soon as his condition permits it,” a spokesperson for the Longueuil police department said Sunday morning.
