Quebec will have just started to recover from its last snowstorm when a second blows in Saturday.
Montreal is expected to get about 5 centimetres of snowfall during the day and another 2 to 4 cm overnight. Temperatures will hover around minus-7 Celsius and rise to 0C by morning. Sunday should be clear with the mercury sitting around minus-1C.
The area from Gatineau to Quebec City can expect 10 to 15 centimetres by Sunday morning, New Year’s Day. The conditions of roads that are still snow-covered will probably deteriorate.
Motorists are advised to slow down, don’t drink, and stay aware. Operation Nez Rouge is ready to take calls. The number to call in Montreal is 514-256-2510.
A storm earlier in the week dumped 15 centimetres on Montreal and nearly 50 cm on the North Shore and in Eastern Quebec.
