Air Canada has announced it will resume flights to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Saturday evening following the mass shooting that took place at the airport in the city on Friday.
The Canadian airliner sent out the message Saturday afternoon, via Twitter, stating “flights to resume this evening, flexible booking policy in place.”
Flights to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport were halted early Friday afternoon after a man used a firearm to shoot people at random. Five people were killed and another six people were wounded.
The lone gunman, a former U.S. soldier who reportedly suffers from a mental health problem, was arrested at the airport.
