A 16-year-old was charged with attempted murder Thursday morning in connection with the stabbing attack of a teenager that occurred at the corner of St-Laurent Blvd. and Jarry St. Wednesday in Villeray.
Police arrested the youth at his home in Park Extension at 8 p.m. Wednesday night. He was held overnight pending his appearance in Quebec youth court Thursday.
He was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon.
Police say the 17-year-old victim sustained life-threatening injuries in the attack. He remains in critical condition.
The victim was arguing with his assailant when the suspect stabbed him and ran away. The victim was known to police, investigators said.
