A major drug raid nabbed six people in the town of Contrecoeur, east of Montreal early Wednesday.
Police said they disrupted a major drug trafficking ring in the sector, in an operation that began last fall. Five apartments on Berthiaume St. were raided as part of the operation. Two women and four men were taken into custody and will likely face charges in court for drug trafficking, among other charges.
Police will provide more information later Wednesday about the raid, including what types of drugs were seized, and if other items were also taken.
The raid was conducted by 50 officers from the Sûreté du Québec and the Régie intermunicipale de police Richelieu-Saint-Laurent.
