Seven teenagers between the ages of 16 and 18 were arrested late Thursday morning in Pierrefonds-Roxboro and Île-Bizard-Ste-Geneviève. They face multiple charges including armed robbery, armed assault and intimidation.
The accused are alleged to have threatened victims in public places, taking money or belongings and to have sent threatening messages. Three of the suspects are known to police for their participation in other violent crimes.
The arrests come after Montreal police launched an investigation earlier this fall after receiving complaints from parents of teenagers who said their children had been victimized by a gang of teenagers since mid-September.
