About 1,100 Urgences-Santé ambulance workers in Montreal and Laval plan to launch a strike on Feb. 5.
The workers are members of the Confédération des syndicats nationaux union.
Another 1,000 workers who provide ambulance services in the Montérégie, Gaspé and Abitibi regions, members of the Fédération des travailleurs et travailleuses du Québec, are expected to strike on Feb. 2.
For members of both unions, the main issues are salaries, pension plans, and work schedules.
Quebec’s Essential Services Council has yet to announce what level of service will have to be maintained during the work stoppages.
