After a two-year foray into provincial politics that saw him elected to the Quebec National Assembly and as leader of the Parti Québécois, Pierre Karl Péladeau has returned to Quebecor as its CEO.
In a statement made public Thursday morning, Quebecor announced that Péladeau will resume his role at president and CEO “immediately” and that Pierre Dion, who had held the position since April 2014 (when Péladeau was elected as the PQ MNA for St. Jerome), has been appointed chairman of the board of Quebecor Media and a director of Quebecor.
Péladeau is quoted as saying he is “very pleased to return to the helm of Quebecor. … The corporation is dear to my heart, it is in sound financial health, and has grown steadily in recent years.”
Prior to jumping into politics, Péladeau had held the CEO position for 14 years.
