Several parts of the Gaspé peninsula have been buried under more than 120 centimetres of snow over two days.
Murdochville, among others, was particularly affected. In Gaspé and Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, there was less precipitation — but still around 40 centimetres fell.
Gaspé had 590 cm of snow during the winter of 1994-95, an all-time record. So far this season, it has seen 340 centimetres. The Gaspésie is 600 kilometres northeast of Quebec City, north of New Brunswick.
