SAINTE-TITE — Rescuers resumed their search Thursday morning for a 35-year-old dairy farm worker listed as missing after the roof of barn where he was working suddenly collapsed.
Heavy snow accumulation is suspected as the cause of the incident, which occurred about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the farm on Haut-du-Lac Rd.
The collapse led to a rescue effort that included local firefighters, police, the Sûreté du Québec and a squad of Montreal firefighters who specialize in search and rescue in confined spaces.
About 20 cows were also inside the barn when the collapse occurred.
Sainte-Tite is 60 kilometres north of Trois-Rivières.
