A bouncing baby boy delivered at the Lakeshore General Hospital last Wednesday is reportedly the first baby born in the West Island this year.

Stacy Andrade and her husband, Andrew Outar, welcomed Wesley, the youngest of their three boys, into the world shortly after 10 a.m. on Jan. 1 at the Pointe-Claire hospital.

“The oldest is 2½ years and the middle child is about one year old. They’re all back to back,” Andrade said.

The newest member of this St-Laurent family weighed in at 7 pounds and 14 ounces. Andrade, who had been informed her due date would be around Jan. 1, arrived at the hospital at about 8:30 a.m. She said the biggest surprise came as a result of the baby turning sideways in the womb sometime the day before so she ended up delivering by Cesarean section to offset any potential complications.

“I skipped the labour pains, so that was the best part, I guess,” she said.

Mom and baby went home last Friday.

“It’s truly a blessing, no matter what date it would have been,” said the proud father. “It doesn’t matter as long as they are healthy.”

Outar described his wife as a super woman.

“How she copes with all she does, I don’t even understand how she does it,” he added. “She’s stronger than me and that’s why she’s my rock.”
