It’s Robbie Burns Night on Saturday, Jan. 25, and the West Island Children’s Charity is hosting its 22nd celebration of the Scottish poet at the Hymus Resto Bar.
All proceeds go to the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Musical guests, including Salty Dog and the Montreal Pipes and Drums, plus dancers from the Montreal Highland Dance Association will entertain. Traditional food and drink are on the menu and former West Islander Doogie McMahon will fly in from Calgary to address the haggis — something he has done for many of the West Island Children’s Charity Robbie Burns parties in the past.
It will be the last Robbie Burns Party for the charity, which has raised about $300,000 for children’s charities over two decades. The goal is to reach the $350,000 mark on Jan. 25th.
The buffet will be served at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $25. The Hymus Resto Bar is at 177 Hymus Blvd. in Pointe-Claire. For information, call 514-426-5000 or visit www.robbieburnsnight.com.
