A 20-year-old Laval man was arrested on the weekend for impaired driving and breaking parole conditions after leading police on a high-speed chase into Pointe Claire Village.
The incident took place at about 3:25 a.m. on Sunday morning when police pulled up behind the vehicle of the man as he was stopped at Hymus Blvd., waiting to proceed north on St. Jean.
Police said the chase began once the traffic light changed, the man took off with a screech and, made a U-turn in order to head south on St. Jean Blvd. Police followed the man to Lakeshore Blvd. where he then turned right and, headed west to Pointe Claire Village.
The man abandoned his vehicle before police caught up to him but, he was later apprehended on Ste. Anne St. The man is known to police.
