John Abbott College Islanders basketball player Justin Owen-Renwick was named the RSEQ Division 1 Rookie of the Year and Islanders coach David King was named Coach of the Year at the RSEQ all-star banquet, Friday. Owen-Renwick and teammates Ricardo Monge and Deevon Small also earned second-team, all-star honours. John Abbott College hosted the RSEQ provincial basketball championships over the weekend. The Islanders lost to the Dawson Blues, Saturday and to the Sainte-Foy Dynamiques, Sunday. The Vanier College Cheetahs won men’s gold and the Collège Montmorency Nomades won women’s gold.
