A total of 71.44 per cent of eligible Quebec voters cast ballots on Monday, down slightly from the September 2012 provincial election which saw a 74.6 per cent turnout. But voter turnout was up in all four West Island ridings over their respective participation rates in 2012.
In Robert-Baldwin, 76.99 per cent of eligible voters cast ballots, up from 69.09 per cent in 2012.
In Jacques-Cartier, the participation rate was 81.18 per cent, making it the highest in the West Island — and also up from the ridings 2012 participation rate of 76.89.
In Nelligan, 78.61 per cent of eligible voters cast ballots, up from 73.21 per cent in 2012.
Marquette had a voter turnout of 71.15 per cent, up from its 2012 participation rate of 70.39.
