Senneville has hired an engineering firm to prepare plans as part of an effort to improve traffic flow heading to and from Highway 40.
On Monday, town council adopted a resolution to mandate a firm at a cost of about $8,500 to develop plans and specifications for access between Senneville Road and Highway 40 service road U-turn near Exit 40.
The town hopes to install permanent access points to alleviate the traffic along Senneville Rd., taking into consideration the multimillion-dollar Tenaquip facility being built and the new cemetery being established on the north-side of the highway.
Currently, a temporary access point has been in place to deal with traffic as a result of an ongoing $49 million project to overhaul and repave a section of Highway 40 stretching from Kirkland to the Îleaux-Tourtes Bridge.
