The Gazette and advertising agency BleuBlancRouge have scooped up honours for the ‘We Cover the West’ campaign to launch the Off-Island Gazette website and re-launch the West Island Gazette.
At the Infopresse Prix Média gala Thursday, the newspaper won a grand prize for non-standard media approaches for a marketing stunt using papier mâché objects covered in newspaper that were strategically placed across the West Island and off-island suburbs over a 48-hour period.
The miscellaneous objects included shopping carts and statue of a man and his dog. The attention-grabbing campaign, complemented by opportunities to post Instagram photos and by radio spots, was created to promote awareness of hyper-local coverage in some of The Gazette’s key circulation areas.
