Fairview Pointe-Claire is undertaking a $250,000-upgrade of its parking lot and installing a new pedestrian walkway.

The main road in front of the mall’s Old Navy-HomeSense entranceway on the southside of the building is being repaved this month. At the same time, a new pedestrian walkway is being built.

“This is the main entrance of the mall,” said Christian Vezina, a spokesperson for Cadillac Fairview, the mall’s owner. “Thirty per cent of visitors come through this entrance. We want to funnel the pedestrian traffic safely.”

The work, which is part of the mall’s 10-year capital plan, is expected to be completed by the end of June.

Meanwhile, construction is continuing on the north side of the Pointe-Claire shopping mall where the STM operates its bus terminus.

An $80,000 remodel is underway there in order to allow easier access for the articulated busses used on the popular Pierrefonds Express 407-line.
