The 2014 Man Olympics is being held this weekend in Senneville to raise funds for the James Ratcliffe Foundation.

The two-day charity and sporting event is raising money for the annual $1,500 scholarship in memory of James Ratcliffe, who died at the age of 20 during training as a firefighter in Hudson. The scholarship is given to young students in pursuit of post-secondary education and who play an active role in their community like Ratcliffe did.

The event will see 100 people participate in 20 athletic events and have live music throughout the weekend. Organizer Ian Ellermo says that the goal is to promote friendship and comradery as Ratcliffe did.

It will take place at 165 Senneville Rd., from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on July 12 and 13. All funds go to the James Ratcliffe Foundation and donations in kind are welcome. The foundation is governed by the Ratcliffe family.
