West Islanders are being reminded to report any unwanted sexual advances to police after a woman was groped by an unidentified man while she was shopping in a Dorval shopping centre.
The incident took place Sept. 9 at about 4 p.m. inside a store at Dorval Gardens on Dorval Ave.
Police say the suspect approached the woman and tried to engage her in a conversation. She rebuffed him. A few seconds later, the man passed behind her and grabbed her breasts with his two hands.
The woman cried out and the man fled on foot.
Police are looking for a white male, about 25 years of age with short brown hair. He stands about six feet tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He spoke English.
Montreal police Constable Hélène Jubinville of Station 5 in Pointe-Claire said people should be careful not to minimize such gestures.
“It is important to note that touching of anyone’s private parts without consent is a sexual aggression,” said Jubinville.
